The ‘Most Jumperful Time of the Year’ Celebrates £20,000 Fundraising Milestone

Looking back to 2020, Natalie Porter initiated the tradition of wearing festive jumpers in the garden retail sector. Fast forward three years, and the torch has been passed to the fourth and fifth participants, Tammy Woodhouse from Millbrook and Linda Petrons, Greenfingers’ Fundraising and Communications Director. This 25-day challenge, known as the ‘Most Jumperful Time of the Year,’ has not only become a beloved industry tradition but has also proven to be a successful fundraising activity for the Greenfingers Charity. The current fundraising total has surpassed an impressive £20,000, with additional contributions pouring in to support Linda and Tammy throughout December.

Reflecting on this achievement, Natalie Porter expressed her pride in seeing the initiative reach the £20,000 mark in its fourth year. She highlighted the industry’s enthusiasm for sponsoring the festive jumpers, contributing to Greenfingers’ mission of creating magical gardens for children in hospices—one jumper at a time.

The Most Jumperful 2023 challenge is well underway, with Tammy and Linda selecting from a wardrobe of 50 jumpers, each sponsored by one of the 25 supporters. Notable sponsors include British Garden Centres, Evergreen Garden Care, Klondyke, and more. Sponsors have the opportunity to wear Christmas jumpers on their allocated day and contribute a £100 donation to the fundraising total. The challenge has already witnessed 10 sponsors participating in the festive fun as it approaches the halfway mark.

Although all sponsorships are secured, there is still ample time to show support by making donations to the Most Jumperful challenge through the dedicated JustGiving page or by contacting Linda Petrons via linda@greenfingerscharity.org.uk.

Expressing gratitude to sponsors, Linda Petrons emphasized the significance of their support in facing the challenge of wearing festive jumpers for 25 days. She underscored that the real motivation behind the initiative is the daily challenges faced by life-limited children and their families.
