GRIDSERVE and Dobbies Collaborate on New Electric Retail Hub at Dobbies Edinburgh

GRIDSERVE, a leading charging company, has inaugurated its latest Electric Retail Hub at Dobbies Edinburgh, marking a strategic partnership with the renowned garden center to expand High Power charging locations across the UK.

Situated in Lasswade, Dobbies Edinburgh now boasts six GRIDSERVE charging bays, including two accessible bays catering to individuals with additional requirements.

The Electric Retail Hub features two dual charging units with four charging bays, enabling simultaneous charging for two vehicles at Medium Power speeds. Additionally, there are two High Power chargers designed for quick top-ups, catering to one car at a time. These charging facilities allow EV drivers to explore the garden center and other amenities while their vehicles charge.

Equipped with CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, the Electric Retail Hub accepts contactless payments and provides real-time status updates through popular EV charging maps. Powered by 100% net-zero carbon energy, these chargers align with GRIDSERVE and Dobbies’ commitment to combating climate change.

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, expressed delight about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of convenient and efficient charging locations for boosting EV adoption. He highlighted their rapid rollout strategy and hinted at the prospect of additional GRIDSERVE chargers at Dobbies locations in the near future, saying “We are delighted to be opening another Electric Retail Hub with our partners at Dobbies. Fast and reliable charging at convenient locations is what is needed to give drivers the confidence to switch to electric. We continue the rollout of new locations and chargers at speed and scale, and look forward to open even more GRIDSERVE chargers at Dobbies locations in the near future.”

David Gibson, Regional Manager for Dobbies, emphasized the company’s dedication to evolving its stores in line with customer needs. He stated, “As more drivers are switching to electric vehicles, we are delighted to be opening the electric retail hub in Edinburgh to provide the local community with easy-to-access, affordable, and fast EV charging.”
