Greenwood Plants Wins ‘Gold Rose’ Award at AIPH International Grower of the Year 2024

UK-based Greenwood Plants wins ‘Gold Rose’ award at AIPH International Grower of the Year (IGOTY) Awards 2024. AIPH President Leonardo Capitanio presented the prestigious award during the awards ceremony held on January 23, 2024, at IPM Essen, Germany.

Established in 2009 with the backing of FloraCulture International, the AIPH IGOTY Awards celebrate excellence in horticulture, honoring top ornamental production nurseries worldwide for their dedication and contributions to the industry.

Greenwood Plants, a landscape supply nursery specializing in the new build property, commercial, and infrastructure sectors, manages over 100 acres and produces approximately six million plants annually across its six nursery sites. In recognition of its commitment to sustainability, the company received the HTA Peat-free Grower of the Year award in 2023.

Melanie Asker, Managing Director of Greenwood Plants, expressed delight at winning the award, attributing it to the hard work of the team and acknowledging the overwhelming support from the UK industry.

In addition to the Gold Rose Award, Greenwood Plants secured victories in the Finished Plants & Trees category, presented by Torben Brinkmann, Head of Projects at IPM Essen, and the Sustainability category, presented by Sarah von Fintel, Key Account Manager for GlobalG.A.P. and G.N.N. Label.

The IGOTY 2024 jury praised Greenwood Plants as an innovative producer of landscape-ready plants and a recognized leader in the field. The company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and innovative marketing efforts were highlighted as key factors contributing to its success.
