Green-tech Partners with IndiWoods Ltd to Establish a Dog-Friendly Woodland Oasis

IndiWoods Ltd, a prominent woodland consultancy based in Co Armagh, has collaborated with Green-tech, the leading green-tech supplier, to create a remarkable 30-acre dog-friendly woodland tailored for canine enjoyment. Specializing in native woodland planting, IndiWoods works closely with farmers and landowners across Northern Ireland to promote sustainable and ecologically beneficial forestry practices.

Owned and spearheaded by Carolyn Trimble, who boasts over 20 years of expertise in native woodland creation across Northern England and Northern Ireland, IndiWoods has successfully planted over 2 million native trees to date.

The latest venture involved the establishment of Beechgrove Doggy Wood, a captivating woodland spanning 12 hectares on the outskirts of Banbridge, Co Down. This native woodland complements the adjacent Doggy Fun Park, contributing to its success and offering additional activity trails amidst the trees for dogs to revel in.

Green-tech, a trusted partner of IndiWoods since 2006, provided approximately 22,000 Tubex Easywrap Tree Shelters and canes to safeguard the newly planted trees from potential threats posed by rabbits and hares. The Tubex Easywrap, a polypropylene tree wrap, is designed for recyclability after serving its purpose. Notably, it facilitates lateral growth at lower levels crucial for certain plant species. As the tree matures, the Tubex Easywrap expands, creating space for lateral branches to flourish. This innovative protection system also retains moisture and heat around the plant, safeguarding it from small animals and chemical sprays, thereby enhancing overall survival rates.

Beechgrove Doggy Wood covers an expansive 30 acres, featuring woodland trails and vast areas for exploration. The initiative allows dog enthusiasts to sponsor a tree for life, dedicating it to their beloved pets.

Carolyn Trimble expressed her enthusiasm for native woodland planting and her longstanding partnership with Green-tech, stating, “I am passionate about encouraging native woodland planting throughout Northern Ireland and have worked with Green-tech for almost two decades to fulfill my requirements for tree planting and protection materials. Their customer service is excellent, and they always deliver what I need, when I need it, so I would happily recommend them. The owners of Beechgrove Doggy Wood are delighted with their woodland, and I loved being involved in it. We used native species to help strengthen and diversify the local ecosystem, and I am thrilled with how well it has been received.”
