GCA Calls for Member Votes to Decide GCA Associate Member of the Year 2023

Members of the Garden Centre Association (GCA) are urged to cast their votes for the prestigious title of GCA Associate Member of the Year 2023. The winner of this accolade, acknowledging outstanding contributions to the sector’s success, will be unveiled during the GCA’s upcoming annual conference in the Cotswolds, scheduled for January 28 to 31, 2024.

GCA CEO, Peter Burks, emphasizes the significance of member input in determining the deserving recipient: “We love to hear from our members and want to get their thoughts on who should be our Associate Member of the Year for 2023.”

Unlike strict criteria, the selection process encourages members to vote for a company or individual that has made notable contributions to their centers, whether through exceptional service, introduction of new products, or impactful marketing strategies.

The deadline for voting is 5 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, with all votes to be submitted via email to peter@gca.org.uk. The award, known as the Haskins Stewarts Cup, will be presented to the winners during the January conference.

GCA’s annual conference, hosted at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, offers an opportunity for industry professionals to connect and engage. Booking details are available on the GCA website at www.gca.org.uk.

Interested suppliers, often unaware of eligibility, are also encouraged to join the GCA. Peter Burks highlights, “Many garden centre suppliers don’t realise that they can join us. We welcome applications from any supplier offering products or services relevant to our garden centre members.” Further details on becoming an Associate Member can be found at https://gca.org.uk/suppliers/.

The GCA, representing over 200 garden centres nationwide, actively fosters industry excellence by sharing information and implementing inspection programs to uphold high standards in customer service, plant quality, and reliability.
