AMES Tools Makes Its Mark in UK Garden Centres

Since its much-anticipated launch at Glee 2023, the innovative AMES Tools brand has been making waves in the garden retail sector. With unique design features, a comprehensive range, and a choice of carbon or stainless-steel options, AMES Tools has received a positive response from gardening enthusiasts. As the spring season approaches, the AMES Companies merchandising teams are actively installing dedicated product displays in hundreds of garden centres across the UK, starting with the milestone installation at Selby Garden Centre. Brian Cobb, Merchandising Manager, shares insights into this exciting development for the tool brand.

AMES Tools Delivered Direct to Store

The AMES Companies merchandising team arrives in convoy to deliver AMES Tools directly to stores. Working closely with store sales managers and garden centre staff, the team not only ensures the products fit the space but also attracts attention throughout the retail store.

With dedicated teams in place, most stores will benefit from regular visits by the merchandisers. This fosters relationships and allows the team to familiarize themselves with the space, anticipating layout and display needs ahead of time and providing expert recommendations.

Revamping the Tool Space

At Selby Garden Centre, the dedicated space for the AMES Tools display was earmarked before stock arrival. On the day of delivery, the team, joined by store manager Claire Turton, constructed the new tool display from start to finish.

The AMES team excels in combining creativity with construction expertise. Beyond assembling the display unit, they expertly add the right stock combinations and perfect the layout for an optimal shopping experience. Selby Garden Centre opted for the modular back wall solution, spanning one to two meters, featuring sleek black fixtures, built-in spotlights, and a backlit header panel that proudly showcases the AMES branding.

Why Retailers Love AMES Tools?

During the installation, Brian Cobb took the opportunity to discuss the initial thoughts of Claire Turton, Selby Garden Centre’s manager, on the new tool offering.

“I was excited when I first saw the AMES Tools offering, as it offered great pre-season deals, but more than this, I also recognised the difference that it was bringing to the market, as well as the quality of the product,” said Claire Turton. She expressed admiration for the eye-catching display, praising its clarity in explaining products to customers. Claire also commended the QR code feature that directs customers from the label to the website for more information.

Standout Features and USPs

Claire highlighted that the AMES Tools range covers everything a garden centre needs to offer customers. She noted, “The carbon range is a great point of difference compared to other ranges currently on the market today. The quality shines through, and there are many different features creating unique selling points.”
