Brushcutter cutter designs have rarely altered over the years, that trusted boxy design adorns the majority of the market place. Long gone are the days when we buy on performance alone, looks, and the perceived build quality are the deciding factors. The curves and that trademark bright yellow casing of the Stiga SBC-656-DX are a clear winner… Of course, looks without performance would certainly disappoint, but Stiga has managed to tick all the boxes.
The introduction and critical feature of the machine is the electronic management system, totally transforming the user experience. I’ve found with just one pull of the cord; the 52.8cc is alive, goodbye manual chokes!
The balance of the machine once attached to the supplied padded harness provides comfortable, controlled, and enjoyable brush cutting, even in the most challenging terrain.
All this is made possible with the bike-style (cow horn) handlebars, comfortable grips, plus quick on the go handlebar positioning within seconds thanks to the smart adjustment system installed to the reinforced shaft, perfect for when the terrain changes.
The machine comes complete with a tri-arc blade for woody material, long grass, and weeds plus a standard bump head for duel line trimming. The tri-arc blade soon demolished large areas of bracken, while the line trimmer worked perfectly to reduce grass on wet banks.
The 52.8cc engine, as you can imagine, is quite a beast that is more than capable of those larger property and ground maintenance tasks with ease. I’ve yet to find a job within a commercial environment that the machine wasn’t capable of tackling.
It’s powerful, well designed with the user in mind!
