Standing the test of time: The first Posh Shed

Date:

When gardeners embark on the search for a new shed, they will be looking for three key aspects; great quality, eye-catching design, and practicability.

The Posh Shed Company has been designing and creating bespoke sheds and backdoor stores for more than 25 years – and its products really do stand the test of time.

Posh customers, Phil and Sue Power from Ashford, purchased their Gothic Shed in the autumn of 2010 – making it the oldest Posh Shed in the company’s customer portfolio.

The couple, who are avid gardeners, chose this traditional-looking shed as they were keen to include eye-catching features in their garden, after embarking on a major renovation project.

Mr Power said: “When we were redesigning our garden in 2008, we were on the hunt for a striking building to include features. We heard about Posh Shed initially through an advertisement and then saw its Gothic design online. We found this shed to be particularly striking and attractive.”

The Gothic Shed has an elegant, traditional design with detailed gothic arches within the door and window frames. It is available in a choice of six finishes, meaning it can either blend beautifully into the background or become an eye-catching focal point. The shed is also made from pressure-treated timber which prevents it from rotting or bowing.

In order to keep the shed looking at its best, Mr and Mrs Power have maintained their shed throughout the years, giving it regular re-sands and repaints.

Now, nearly nine years on, the shed sits proudly as a centre piece in the couple’s garden – in immaculate form.

Mrs Power added: “During the nine years we have had our shed, there has only been a minor water seepage issue.  Since the company fixed this for us, we have had no other issues! We use the shed to store chairs, cushions and curtains and Sue’s garden tools – but apart from these practical needs, our Posh Shed is very much a focal feature, perched firmly above the lawn, which was levelled in 2009, and adjacent to climbing roses and perennial borders. We have been so impressed with how our shed has stood the test of time after all these years, it has exceeded our expectations. It’s attractive, practical and ultimately a shed for all seasons.”

Richard Frost, Managing Director of The Posh Shed Company, commented: “We are delighted to hear that Phil and Sue’s shed is still looking as great as it did when it left our workshop. Their story really demonstrates that our products are built to the highest quality possible”
