New collections created by Butter Wakefield, Lucinda Chambers, Patrick Grant, Tricia Guild, and Johnnie Boden
Sarah Raven has announced the launch of The Dahlia Collective, a new series of exclusive dahlia collections, inspired by five of Britain’s most influential creative figures spanning fashion, interiors, craftsmanship, and garden design.
The new collections have been co-created by Sarah Raven and Butter Wakefield, Lucinda Chambers, Patrick Grant, Tricia Guild, and Jonnie Boden, each curating a look that reflects their individual approach to colour, form, and design.
Sarah Raven said: “Dahlias are the true headliners of the late summer and autumn garden. Their dazzling and generous structure and brilliantly long-performing colour have long won the admiration of British gardeners. For me, no garden is complete without dahlias.
“The natural world has always inspired artists and designers, and our new collections celebrate just that. The Dahlia Collective brings the fascination with the flower to life and shows how one plant can be interpreted in completely different ways through colour, form, and feeling.”
The Dahlia Collective builds on Sarah Raven’s long-standing influence on modern British gardening. Over the past three decades, she has bred and introduced more than one hundred dahlia varieties, helping to re-establish the flower as a centrepiece of contemporary gardens and a source of inspiration beyond them.
All five collections are available to buy on the Sarah Raven website now, with prices starting at £25.95.

Lucinda Chambers
Lucinda Chambers has shaped the face of fashion and inspired the wardrobes of millions of women over the past three decades. As Fashion Director of British Vogue for 25 years, Lucinda has directed some of fashion’s most memorable shoots and has worked with several respected brands from Prada and Marni to H&M, River Island and Warehouse. Now, she expertly curates the best of fashion, interiors, beauty and lifestyle for the shopping platform, Collagerie, which she co-founded with Serena Hood.
Lucinda’s collection explores contemporary colour through soft yellows and nuanced tones, complemented with shape and structure delivering the high fashion look.
Lucinda Chambers said: I find gardening really meditative. You can switch off a busy mind but keep the body moving. I find the exercising of patience very helpful. The delight in deferred gratification, the wonderment of when something flourishes is something I never quite get over or take for granted. I have come to gardening quite late, so I was ready for it.”

Butter Wakefield
Butter Wakefield is an award-winning landscape designer. Growing up on a small farm near Baltimore, her love of nature and design was nurtured by generations of keen gardeners. Her London-based studio creates deeply personal, carefully crafted gardens that combine beauty, structure, and soul.
Butter’s dahlia collection features a mix of pinks, purples, and blues, and is bursting with pompom shapes, reflecting her painterly approach to planting and focuses on structure and harmony.
Butter said: “I love the shape of the pompom dahlias as they are so unusual and look so fabulous both in the border or a pot and inside in an arrangement. Their shapes amuse and distract me in the most lyrical way. My grandfather, a real Anglophile and garden enthusiast, had beautiful very English mixed borders and I can remember being enthralled by them as a child. I think my love for his love happened quite early on in my young life.”

Patrick Grant
Patrick Grant is best known for his role on the BBC’s The Great British Sewing Bee. His career has taken him from rebuilding Savile Row tailor Norton & Sons to revitalising E. Tautz, for which he won Menswear Designer of the Year. He’s worked with global names including Cartier, Rolls-Royce, and Alexander McQueen. He has spent the last two decades championing a better way with clothes: buying fewer, valuing them more, and understanding who makes them and where. In 2016, he founded Community Clothing, a pioneering, not-for-profit social enterprise created to support UK textile and clothing manufacturers and to revive good jobs in the communities they anchor.
Patrick’s dahlia collection delivers striking shapes and brilliantly restrained palettes, reflecting his own style and craftsmanship that’s rooted in quality and sustainability.
Patrick said: “Perch Hill conjures up so much romance and beauty. It was a treat to get to spend a bit of time there. For my collection, I wanted variety in shape and scale, and variety but harmony in colour.”

Johnnie Boden CBE
Johnnie Boden CBE is the founder and creative director of the British clothing brand Boden, recognised for its joyful colours and patterns. Flowers have always been a source of inspiration and connection for Johnnie, whether he’s collaborating with his creative team or unwinding on his wildflower meadows in West Dorset.
His dahlia collective boasts dark, rich colours which draw on his memories of long summers and warm autumns and celebrates colour with a distinctly British optimism.
Johnnie said: “Nature is a constant source of inspiration in my day job, whether we’re creating a new colour palette, developing a floral print or choosing velvet colours. Dahlias are the best bit of autumn, my otherwise least favourite season. It is impossible to have richer, warmer colours than these natural ones. They transport me to noisy dinners with lots of red wine, smiling faces and laughter.”
Bring Johnnie’s love for colour to your garden: Dahlia ‘Rip City’, Dahlia ‘Nuit d’Ete’ syn. ‘Summer Night’, Dahlia ‘Happy Halloween’, Dahlia ‘Bantling’
