Haddonstone Brings Sustainability to Stone Garden Designs

Handcrafted cast stone designs that are beautiful, durable, and eco-conscious

Haddonstone, the UK’s leading manufacturer of quality handcrafted garden and landscape cast-stone designs, is raising the bar for sustainability in its production processes. Every product in its Home & Garden range is created using environmentally responsible methods, proving that elegance and eco-consciousness can go hand in hand.

The family-owned company is committed to an Environmental and Sustainability Management System. This includes a programme of continual improvements across the business to minimise the impact of its operations on society and the environment.

Sustainability is reflected in the company’s manufacturing process, as well as being built into the products themselves. Every design is made for longevity, offering exceptional durability and frost-proof performance. Created to withstand year-round weather conditions, Haddonstone designs provide long-term reliability while supporting a more sustainable approach to garden and landscape design.Through in-depth research, Haddonstone has also gained a clearer understanding of the decarbonisation journey of some of its most popular products. Their Small Tudor Jardiniere, for example, reaches carbon neutrality in just 25 months.

Haddonstone’s Northamptonshire manufactory is powered by a vast solar panel array, installed in 2023, which supplies energy for production and feeds surplus electricity back to the National Grid. Haddonstone has already cut CO₂e emissions by over 176 tonnes – the equivalent of planting 100 trees. Further initiatives include the use of energy-efficient lighting, optimised batch production, and strict machinery shutdown protocols.

Materials are used thoughtfully, too. Handmade timber moulds used to create Haddonstone’s enviable designs are repaired, reused, and then recycled as biomass fuel to heat the factory, thereby reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Responsible material sourcing extends to obtaining limestone aggregates from an environmentally-conscious UK supplier, where expert oversight ensures biodiversity protection and minimal environmental impact. Local deliveries further reduce transport emissions.

“Our Home & Garden range isn’t just about creating beautiful outdoor spaces. It’s about creating garden products that last, and at the same time, doing so with care for the natural world.”

Haddonstone’s Home & Garden Sales Director, Will Haxby
