Forest Garden, the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of wooden garden products, has reported a surge in orders this spring, as lockdown has helped gardening become a national pastime.
The company has everything gardeners needs to turn their green spaces into productive kitchen gardens for growing vegetables and salad, plus products to help them cope with the extra garden waste.
Each of the items featured are simple to construct at home and are available for home delivery from a wide variety of online retailers.

Forest Garden Compost Bins
Composting at home has never been higher on the gardening agenda. A survey last week found that nearly 30% of councils had stopped collecting garden waste due to staff shortages during lockdown (figures from the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport). The Forest Garden compost bin range starts includes the entry level Composter (RRP £53, 61(h) x 99(w) x 99(d)cm, a Slot Down Compost Bin (RRP £125.00, 82(h) x 103(w) x 103(d)cm and a Beehive Compost Bin with an inner shelf that can be opened, allowing mature compost to be removed easily from the bottom of the pile (RRP £134.99, 86(h) x 75(w) x 74(d)cm).
“It’s great to see that UK gardeners are using their extra home time in such a sustainable way,” said Lynsey Grinnell, Forest Garden’s head of marketing. “Now is the ideal time to sow salad crops and, once the danger of frost has passed, it will be time to plant outside a wide range of vegetables and outdoor tomatoes.”
