Two new etesias have been launched ahead of the 2019 season. This extends their range of mowers currently available on the market. The machines are professional pedestrian rotary mowers with a 46cm cutting width
The PHTS3 is self-propelled with a single speed, while the PHE3 is a push variation of the mower.
Along the lines of the PRO46 range of pedestrian mowers which were first launched in the early 1990’s, the models have Xenoy cutting decks for increased strength, a shear washer crank protection system, individual height of cut adjusters, a new 22mm handlebar design and the latest Honda GCV170 engine. They are supplied with an eighty litre grass box and a rear deflector as standard.
The Honda GCV Series of engines gives the best in it’s class power and torque together with easy and reliable starting. The engines also have reduced noise and vibration levels. They are easy to service and maintain. Their large petrol filler cap allows operators to see the fuel level while filling. The extended oil dip-stick makes filling easier. There are a lot of additional features expected from a professional machine.
Versatility is the name of the game with both new models being capable of mowing with or without collection in all conditions. High-quality mulching is available with the addition of the mulching plug kit accessory (PR46E).
The design has been tested over many years and has an enviable record of quality and performance unrivalled in its class. It provides outstanding collection performance, especially if the grass is long and wet – something that Etesia has prided itself on for the last 30 years.
One extraordinary feature of these models is the ‘one cut’ principle. The principal is that the grass is only cut once before being sent to the grass box. The benefits of this include lower power usage from fast deck material ejection and secondly, as it is not cut multiple times, the grass does not stick to the cutting deck in the same way as multi-cut grass does. This prevents nuisance blockages. The grass box is made from the same Xenoy compound as the cutting deck for optimum strength and it comes complete with an indicator to inform when the box is full.
Both new models come with a comprehensive Etesia two year professional warranty.
“We have gone back to basics with these two new models and to what people expect from an Etesia mower – robustness, reliability and able to cut, collect or mulch in any weather condition,” commented Etesia UK Managing Director Les Malin. “They both have the Xenoy cutting decks which have proved so popular with contractors, landscapers and local authorities and we are very hopeful that customers will see the benefits of reduced maintenance costs and extra reliability. Dealers are already taking orders for these new models, so we are expecting a very busy start to 2019.”
