Hyve Group is pleased to announce Autumn Fair @ Home, Glee Gathering and Fashion Together (comprising Pure, Pure Origin, Moda and Scoop), three completely virtual forums happening this September.

These forums will provide exhibitors and attendees with the opportunity to showcase and discover new products, engage with suppliers via “The Virtual Showroom”, and hear market leading content from retailers and trend forecasters on what 2021 may hold for the industry and how they can kick-start their own sales now.

The event teams behind Autumn Fair, Glee, Pure, Pure Origin, Moda and Scoop believe that these virtual forums are a key part in their new “Refuelling Retail” initiative. This brand-new initiative calls for all market players to refuel the retail industry after a challenging first eight months of 2020. Autumn Fair @ Home, Glee Gathering and Fashion Together will be non-commercial events allowing existing customers to participate at no additional cost aiming to connect the industry this autumn as all national and international retail trade exhibitions had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

Julie Driscoll, UK Regional Director said: “Our market-leading shows are a vital cog in UK retail, our physical shows are places of discovery and dynamic environments where business is done – we want our virtual forums to offer a similar environment. There is no doubt that COVID-19 has impacted retail this year, however, we believe that now is the time to help refuel retail and help our community to bounce back. We hope that the free forums that we are offering to our customers this September really help to kickstart product discovery.”

“We are confidently planning for our February shows, and whilst Autumn Fair @ Home, Glee Gathering and Fashion Together will offer a brilliant way to connect our community in September, it will also act as a great preview for what our retailers will see at Spring Fair, Moda, Pure, Pure Origin and Scoop in February. We look forward to opening the physical doors to our market-leading shows and being able to facilitate business finally being done in person again. What digital has shown us is that whilst it’s a great tool, there is no substitute to face-to-face meetings and being able to touch and feel product again.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Hyve has conducted a significant amount of research with retailers to understand their buying needs and this video-first approach to product showcase has received the thumbs up. Suzanne Ellingham, Head of Content for the UK retail market says  “In an environment where buyers are incredibly time poor, and unable to travel, this offers an efficient way for them to discover what’s new at scale, the opportunity to discover the new products of hundreds of brands over two days is incredibly attractive.  Added to this the opportunity to hear from their peers, and market leading experts over the two days and then on demand, and Autumn Fair @ Home, Glee Gathering and Fashion Together ticks many boxes.”

AUTUMN FAIR

Sarah Ward, CEO of The Giftware Association, is delighted to support the Refuelling Retail initiative and the Autumn Fair @ Home event in September. Sarah states, “This is an incredible step forward for the industry. It’s great that Hyve are doing this free-of-charge event for all exhibitors in order to drive trade in the critical September period. Retailers are running low on stock and this event will enable orders to be placed.”

With retail consumer sales on the increase, an essential part of Autumn Fair @ Home will be the product showcase hours. These will give buyers the opportunity to discover 10 brands within their category that have new products and are ready to be delivered. Autumn Fair will invite over 200 key brands to submit 5-minute videos showcasing key products and inviting buyers to get in touch with them. These showcase videos, once broadcast will also be available on demand for at least a week, giving buyers the opportunity to catch up, or re-watch and brands an additional opportunity to be seen and discovered.

There will be two dedicated streams of product showcases that will run over two days, one for Gift and one for Home & Living. Over two days over 240 brands will showcase their new products in a short video in the following categories:

  • The Gift showcase to include: The Beauty & Wellbeing Edit, The Gift Showcase, Greetings & Stationary Edit, Jewellery & Watch and Fashion (JWF) Edit and The Play & Tech Showcase.
  • The Home & Living showcase to include: The Everyday Edit, The Summerhouse Showcase, Design & Source Showcase, The Living Edit (Day 1) and Home, Living & Décor Showcase (Day 2)

Autumn Fair @ Home is taking place on 8th and 9th September 2020.

GLEE

Glee Gathering will also see the return of GIMA Connect, a virtual edition of the GIMA Speed networking, as well as giving buyers the opportunity to watch the Dragons’ Den style New Product Awards led by GTN Extra and Glee.

GIMA Director Vicky Nuttall is supportive of the virtual Glee Gathering saying, “GIMA will continue to support Glee and we will host a virtual GIMA Buyer Connect matchmaking session that will connect our members to new buyers. We are pleased that Glee are hosting this free of charge event for the industry in order to drive trade in the critical September period. Garden Centres and suppliers have both been incredibly busy for the last few months and this is a great opportunity for our members to connect with buyers and talk about what’s new, and hopefully build their sales pipelines for 2021.”
