Last week (December 7th) the landscape sector came together to celebrate the hard work, quality, commitment and successes of British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) members. During a glittering event in the awe-inspiring Great Room at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, over a thousand people joined in the fun, with Greenfingers Charity benefitting having been chosen as BALI’s 2018 beneficiary charity.
Each year BALI selects a different charity to benefit from its members’ generosity during this night of celebration. Greenfingers were chosen to benefit from money raised at the awards, splitting the proceeds 50/50 with the BALI Chalk Fund.
In total, £5,483 was raised on the night, with Greenfingers receiving £2,741.50, money that will go a long way in helping the charity to continue to build gardens in children’s hospices throughout the UK.
Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Greenfingers Charity said: “We are enormously grateful to BALI and its members for their commitment and support for Greenfingers Charity through the annual BALI Awards. Being selected as BALI’s 2018 beneficiary charity was a great honour, and we are beyond grateful to all those that dug deep and helped to raise such an incredible amount of money. Rest assured, the funds raised will make a huge difference and will enable us to build gardens that provide a quiet retreat, a place of remembrance or simply a place to stop and rest. On behalf of all those that use and enjoy Greenfingers gardens – thank you.
“I’d also like to extend my congratulations to all of those that took home a BALI Award last night. What a fabulous night of celebration of the inspirational work undertaken by BALI members this year.”
