LEADING UK water garden products company Blagdon has unveiled a new addition to its Affinity raised garden pool range giving gardeners with small or large plots alike the chance to enjoy pond keeping (January 2020).
The new Affinity Corner, which comes in three options, View, Mocha and Grand, is a stylish, unique, raised-living water feature, designed to introduce a fresh dimension to gardens, patios and decks.
Andrew Paxton, who is the Development Manager at Blagdon, and product designer of the original Affinity Living Feature Pools concept, is continuing to develop the range. He says of the Corner: “Garden sizes around the UK are diminishing, we wanted to make the experience of having water in your garden more inclusive and not so dependent on space.
“The new Affinity Corner offers people yet another shape that can fit into their environment easily, with little to no fuss. Bringing water to your garden can mean a lot of work, time and materials, but our Affinity range offers a ‘complete pond in a box solution’ and the Corner is the latest, no brainer, addition.
“Pond keeping isn’t just about fish, it’s an entire human and wildlife-friendly experience. It includes the relaxing, healthy, mindfulness properties of watching the ripples and listening to the sound of water running. It also helps bring us all closer to the natural environment, as it opens up a new world of plants and wildlife alike.”
Blagdon’s Affinity ponds are a haven, and provide a habitat, for all manner of wildlife including bees, dragonflies, damselflies, birds, frogs, frogspawn, newts and toads.
Andrew adds: “The Affinity Corner is perfect for homeowners, renters, young professionals, families and retirees, who are time scarce and may be new to pond keeping. It is simple and quick to build, and easy to maintain.
“As it is a raised pool, it is easier for those who may be less mobile to enjoy the relaxing movement of the water, to watch any fish they add, while also enjoying any flowering pond plants, and seeing the wildlife the water attracts. It is also, for those with children, a safer option than a traditional pond sunk into the ground.”
Blagdon’s Affinity Pools range includes nine models, with three sizes, in three shapes; the Octagon, Half Moon and, now, the new Affinity Corner.
They allow owners to enjoy the sight and sound of moving water and aquatic life, day and night, all year round, with the minimum fuss or work that is associated with other ponds.
The new Affinity Corner’s convenient corner shape means it is easy to position against a wall or fence. All pools come as a full kit, including Blagdon’s ‘Inpond Life Support System’ with fountain fittings.
The Affinity View comes with a waterfall and fittings included, while the Mocha and Grand have the fittings supplied should owners wish to purchase the waterfall to upgrade.
The Affinity Corner’s features include:
- A large, strong, shatter proof viewing window
- Planting baskets
- Automatic LED, spotlight, night illumination
- Easy to set up and maintain
- Part of the Affinity Living Feature Pool family, the original and market-leading raised window pond since 2010.
