Six Guinness World Records awarded in CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Competition at Malvern Autumn Show

Malvern Autumn Show, in association with Westons, will welcome over 65,000 visitors through its gates this weekend (Friday 26th – Sunday 28th September 2025) for a seasonal extravaganza at Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

Amongst a full weekend of jovial autumnal family fun, is the fiercely competitive CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship where 6 Guiness World Records were broken including longest radish and heaviest celeriac after a tense day of weighing and measuring with 132 growers battling it out for medals.

Some growers opted to carry in their colossal veg on foot whilst some supersized squashes which were too huge to handle were brought in using a telehandler.

By the end of the day, six Guinness World Records were awarded, including:

“We’re absolutely over the moon with the number of entries world records broken at this year’s CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship,” said Kate Dufton, Show Manager at Malvern Autumn Show. “It’s a real testament to the dedication and passion of the growers, and it’s fantastic to see so many visitors inspired by the fun and possibilities of growing your own food – especially when it comes in giant form!”

The 2025 show saw many other highlights throughout the three days, including:

  • Over 100 Grow to Show classes in the Harvest Pavilion, with entries from cut flowers, vegetables, fruit, alpines, succulents, and more.
  • The RHS Flower Show, bulb markets and seeds: many top nurseries in the Floral Marquee sponsored by HSBC UK, offering the very best plants and advice, bulb merchants, unusual/rare plants, inspiring floral displays and seed merchants.
  • Expert talks & demonstrations: features include Monty Don OBE, Adam Frost, Manoj Malde, August Bernstein, and more.
  • The Great Malvern Cake Off tent with celebrity bakers, including an adorable baking and decorating gingerbread people class for children and the impressive “cake or fake” classes with beautiful cakes designed to trick the eye.
  • NEW All Things Drink with Piston Distillery; a new area of boozy treats in the form of shopping experiences, engaging talks and workshops
