Wildflower Turf

Hampshire-based business Wildflower Turf Ltd can add an award-winning holiday park to their notable list of turf clients, with Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat in Cumbria recently awarded the coveted title of “Best Large Holiday Park Britain 2017” at the prestigious Hoseasons Diamond Awards.

The Awards, held in November 2017, are based on independent customer satisfaction surveys and aim to distinguish holiday parks and resorts from across the UK for their dedication to the provision of exceptional experiences.

“This equates to nearly three hectares, or three football pitches, of wildflowers”

Wildflower Turf Ltd was commissioned by Landscape Architects and Environmental Consultants RPS Planning & Development to advise on the most appropriate landscaping approach in terms of wildflower planting.

With the holiday park situated within the area of the pristine Lake District, the need to create and maintain a naturalistic setting was a key element in terms of the overall landscaping design.

Wildflower Turf Ltd provided almost three hectares of Landscape 34 turf over a period of six months. This equates to nearly three hectares, or three football pitches, of wildflowers. The all-UK native species turf was shipped to the Lake District from Wildflower Turf Ltd’s Hampshire farm, and provided Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat with an instant and biodiverse solution. The wildflowers have allowed the holiday park to blend beautifully into a sensitive and treasured landscape, and clearly customers of the Lodge Retreat have been impressed.

David Cox, Technical Director at RPS Planning & Development said, “We have a well-established, successful relationship with Wildflower Turf Ltd that has enabled a large volume of high-quality wildflower turf to be checked at the nursery and delivered to site expediently.” Cox continued, “Wildflower Turf Ltd’s market knowledge and product quality has aided the project’s landscape architects to positively achieve a fantastic naturalistic grassland landscape setting of this award-winning holiday park.”
