The Herefordshire based Playhouse Company, who specialise in creatively designed and made-to-order playhouses, has created a bespoke creation for CarFest South 2017, organised by BBC presenter and car fanatic, Chris Evans.
The Playhouse specialists were approached by the festival, which donates all of its profits to Children In Need, to create a one-off playhouse for the VIP camping area, to keep the guests’ children entertained whilst not in the main arena. The festival took place on the 25th – 27th August, and played host to a variety of big names such as Kaiser Chiefs, the Jacksons, and Texas. There were many other attractions on site too, such as Carter’s Steam World and the World’s Biggest Custard Pie Fight, so children were spoilt for choice with things to do. The addition of the Playhouse Company’s unique creation meant that they were also happy when back at the campsite, making life easier for the parents!
The playhouse was designed to include a 7ft x 5ft playhouse cottage on a 2ft platform, with two 3ft platforms either side joined by a walkway, providing a play area of 32ft x 12ft – plenty of space to keep lots of children busy!
Richard Frost, managing director of the Playhouse Company, commented: “We were thrilled to be asked to be part of CarFest, and fully support the fantastic work the festival does for Children in Need. As a company, we champion the development of children, and are happy to help charities such as this whenever we can. That’s why we wanted to make something really special, not to mention the fact that we knew we would be competing with attractions such as Superhero World at the event!”
The playhouse was a big hit with the children, and show organiser, Chris Evans commented that “the playhouse was a fantastic addition to our event, and we hope to see them again next year!”
