Johnsons of Whixley has been named on the final shortlist for the inaugural Horticulture Week Business Awards.
The awards showcase the key stakeholders in the horticultural industry and recognise their extraordinary work and achievements throughout the past 12 months.
The finalists have been selected by a panel of expert industry judges from organisations including the National Farmers Union and Greenwich University.
The list includes leading businesses from garden retail, landscape design, build and maintenance, ornamental plant production, fruit growing and arboriculture.
Shortlisted alongside businesses including B&Q and Dutch firm Modiform, Johnsons of Whixley is a commercial nursery based in the heart of Yorkshire and is one of the leading suppliers to the horticultural industry in Europe.
The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards reception and presentation hosted by Horticulture Week at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on 28 June.
Johnsons of Whixley group managing director, Graham Richardson, said: “It is always humbling to be shortlisted for awards like this and we feel proud to have been named alongside some fantastic organisations, each making their own contribution to the horticultural industry.
“The nomination is recognition of the work undertaken by the whole team here at Johnsons, who work tirelessly to maintain high standards in everything we do.”
Horticulture Week editor, Kate Lowe, said: “We’d like to congratulate all of our finalists on reaching the shortlist, and say a huge thank you to all our entrants for the time and energy they put into their entries for the inaugural Horticulture Week Business Awards 2018.
“The high quality of entries in this inaugural year speaks volumes about the talent, commitment, prowess and resilience of professionals leading today’s best horticultural enterprises.
“Our judges’ task to choose the finalists and winners was extremely tough. Thanks are due to each of them for their efforts to ensure everyone received a thorough hearing.”
