Rob (better known on Twitter as @robsallotment) has been a coming to New Leaf since he first visited with his mother as a child. We were obviously so thrilled that a gardener from the Sheffield area was on The Big Allotment Challenge, but when we found it was Rob, we couldn’t have been happier for him.
The news came as a particular delight, as it was only last year we were celebrating another customer, expert floral designer Jonathan Moseley, being selected to be on the judging panel of the show. And it was not so long after that when we found out that another one of New Leaf’s customers, Mr Roy Gill, has won the 2010, 2011, 2013 & 2014 Sheffield Green Fingers Garden Competition. (He missed the 2012 entry due to personal reasons.).
A common theme we are hearing from New Leaf’s expert customers, is that New Leaf is their choice of garden centre due to the range- being a specialist plant retailer, they tend to sock a great range of the best quality products, and many unusual varieties too- it is quite appropriately known in the area for being ‘A garden centre for gardeners’.
Rob’s visit today was a routine visit to his preferred garden centre, where he purchased a beautiful pink tree peony- which he tweeted about
