National green services provider Glendale is celebrating after scooping two wins at the Horticulture Week industry awards 2018 .
The Horticulture Week Business and Custodian Awards acknowledge the achievements of businesses, green spaces managers and volunteer groups working in the horticulture sector.
Client retention rates, customer satisfaction and external accreditations were all taken into consideration when the company was handed the Business Award 2018 for Arboriculture Contractor of the Year.
Glendale also took home the industry magazine’s Custodian Award in the Best Parks Partnership – Commercial category with Lewisham Council. Its partnership with Lewisham Council started in the year 2000 and was the first of the company’s contracts to combine the areas of events management, sports development and infrastructure maintenance with traditional grounds maintenance.
Through the volunteer conservation programme Nature’s Gym, residents of Lewisham were invited to take part in free educational workshops and participate in nature conservation activities, while socialising and staying active.
Adrian Wickham, managing director south at Glendale, said: “It’s an honour to be formally recognised for the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm delivered by our teams of specialists working across the UK, and we’re thrilled to add the Horticulture Week awards to our collection. We’re committed to creating and maintaining beautiful green spaces for all to enjoy and it’s great to see our efforts are making a difference.”
The Horticulture Week Business Awards 2018 were announced at a ceremony held at the London Marriott Hotel, while the Custodian Awards were handed out at Woburn Abbey and Gardens.
