Staff working at Haskins Garden Centre in Snowhill presented £100 worth of daffodil bulbs to Caterham Oxted & Godstone Lions Club (COG Lions Club).

Haskins donated the daffodil bulbs to commemorate the centenary of Lion’s Club International and to support COG Lions’ aim of planting 100 daffodil bulbs in the garden at St. Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley. The hospice provides end of life care and support to the terminally ill and their loved ones, from Crawley, Horsham, mid-Sussex and East Surrey.

The COG Lions Club is a charitable trust which serves the local community in the Tandridge area of Surrey. The Club has been operating since 1978 and provides the opportunity for its members to assist local individuals or groups to raise funds for local deserving causes and wider international appeals. St. Catherine’s Hospice is just one of the local charities it supports.

Tony Carter, member of the COG Lions Club, said: “We are extremely grateful that Haskins was able to donate 100 daffodil bulbs for us to plant in the garden at St. Catherine’s Hospice. We regularly support the hospice and hope the daffodils will bloom next spring to bring the patients a great deal of pleasure.”

David Lilly, centre manager at Haskins Garden Centre in Snowhill, commented: “We’re so pleased to be able to support the COG Lions Club as well as St. Catherine’s Hospice. It’s lovely to think ahead to next year when the daffodils will have bloomed and will bring happiness to the hospice’s patients.”
