Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown has partnered with Bournemouth Hospital Charity to spread festive cheer for children spending Christmas in the Emergency Department this year.
The garden centre has delivered boxes of toy reindeers to the ward to help support poorly children this Christmas. It is hoped that these toys will bring a smile to their faces over the festive period.
Alasdair Urquhart, marketing coordinator at Haskins, said: “It’s a privilege to partner with Bournemouth Hospital Charity to help make a difference to the kids who find themselves in the unfortunate position of spending Christmas in hospital.”
Elaine Wilson, Emergency Department paediatric lead at Bournemouth Hospital, said: “We will be giving these gorgeous reindeers to the unfortunate children that may have to visit us over Christmas. These toys will hopefully give them a better memory of visiting the Emergency Department and help ease the thought of not being at home over Christmas.”
Maria Tidy, senior corporate fundraiser at Bournemouth Hospital Charity, said: “The Emergency Department can be a daunting place full of noise, unfamiliar people and unfamiliar equipment. It can be an incredibly stressful and worrying time for children and their families. That’s why we are so grateful to Haskins for their kind donation of cuddly toy reindeers.”
