2018 will see GIMA collaborate more with the HTA and offer an even more packed calendar of events and workshops as members adjust to the ongoing Brexit saga. Latest comment from GIMA Director Vicky Nuttall: “2018 is shaping up to be another interesting year – we’ll need to see how suppliers continue to deal with challenges of Brexit, and will provide as much help as is at our disposal. The focus must remain on supply chain efficiencies as we continue to deal with inflation, but all in all we go into the new year with a great deal of determination and optimism.
We’ve had a full calendar of events in 2017, and will be announcing further member benefits in 2018.
“Our collaborative work with the HTA has worked remarkably well for us and given members added value. We’re already looking forward to our second year at the helm of the Garden Press Event at the end of February, and exhibiting with Glee at Spring Fair.
At the end of the year we have decided upon a joint HTA/GIMA joint conference in late 2018 – which aims to provide more ‘take away’ value for retailers and suppliers, sales and marketing teams alike.
“Workshops were very well supported in 2017 and Buyer Connect events like the ones held at Glee this year have never been so popular, so we will definitely be doing more of those in the coming 12 months. On top of that we’ll have our usual calendar of events punctuated by the GIMA Awards, and also the successfully expanded Golf & Activity day which this year became more inclusive with laser clay pigeon shooting and cricket.”
