Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas has taken its toll?

Well, it is a new year and maybe time to shape up. So why not crack on with those new year resolutions and burn some unwanted calories against the stunning backdrop of 568 acres of National Botanic Garden?

We have created a series of trails around the Garden – some on flat paths to suit strollers, pushchairs and wheelchairs; and some more rugged, off-road routes around the estate, passing the waterfall.

And, if you can get to the Garden Monday-to-Friday in January, admission is completely FREE.

What better way to try out your new fitness gadget, dig out and dust off that FitBit you were given last Christmas and clock up a serious number of steps?

The various trails are clearly way-marked and there’s a free map to accompany you on your journey – the map is also downloadable from our website if you want to check it out pre-visit.

And each route has a ‘cupcake’ rating that indicates the degree of difficulty.

So, whether you are planning a buggy boot camp, have a walking group in search of a new venue or you belong to a fitness group in need of a change of scene, this will fit like your favourite trainers.

If you can only make it to the Garden at the weekend, it’s not the end of the world because entry is only £3 on Saturdays and Sundays in January (although it is free on January 1st and January 7 and 8).

Cadw’n heini – AM DDIM!

A yw’n dechrau edrych petai’r Nadolig wedi cael effaith mawr arnoch?

Wel, mae hi yn flwyddyn newydd ac efallai’n amser i gadw’n heini?  Pam na wnewch chi gadw i’ch addunedau’r Flwyddyn Newydd drwy losgi’r calorïau gyda 568 erw o’r Ardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol fel cefndir?

Rydym wedi creu nifer o lwybrau o gwmpas yr Ardd – rhai ar lwybrau gwastad yn addas i rodwyr, pramiau a chadeiriau olwyn gyda rhai sy’n fwy garw, gyda llwybrau garw o gwmpas yr ystâd a heibio’r rhaeadr.

Os gallwch ddod i’r Ardd ar Ddydd Llun i Ddydd Gwener, mae mynediad yn rhad ac AM DDIM.

Pa ffordd well i brofi’ch teclynnau heini newydd, i ddod o hyd ac i ysgwyd y llwch oddi ar eich FitBit y gwnaethoch gael y Nadolig diwethaf i glocio nifer fawr o gamau.

Mae’r amrywiaeth o lwybrau yma wedi cael eu marcio’n glir, ac mae map am ddim i’ch tywys ar eich taith – gall y map hefyd cael ei lawr lwytho o’n gwefan os hoffech chi ei gweld o flaen llaw.

Mae gan bob llwybr cyfradd ‘teisen gwpan’ sy’n cyfeirio at y radd o anhawster.

Felly, os ydych yn trefnu taith gyda’ch bygi, os oes gennych grŵp gerdded neu heini sy’n edrych am leoliad newydd, gwnaiff hyn ffitio’n gystal â’ch hoff fâr o esgidiau ymarfer.

Os gallwch ymweld â’r Ardd ar benwythnosau’n unig, peidiwch â phoeni, mae mynediad ond yn £3 ar Ddiwrnodau Sadwrn a Sul yn ystod mis Ionawr (er bod mynediad hefyd am ddim ar Ionawr y 1af, 7fed ac 8fed).

Os ydych am wybod rhagor, gwelwch ein gwefan, e-bostiwch info@gardenofwales.org.uk neu ffoniwch 01558 667149.
